Evan Ream fell in love with the beautiful game at the age of 14 when his brother, Matt, brought home a VHS tape of a 2006 World Cup qualifier between the United States and Trinidad and Tobago. After the game, he was hooked, consuming soccer in every way possible up to this day. A 2012 graduate from Southern Oregon University, Evan began freelancing with The Davis Enterprise in college, moving into a staff writer position in January of 2014. Since then, he has been the newspaper's soccer beat writer, covering Sacramento Republic FC, UC Davis, and Davis High. His book on the Republic is due out in spring 2023.
