Not When, but If? The Story of Sacramento Republic FC

From an idea inside the head of a Sacramento native and two guys who hated soccer, to an MLS team coming in 2023, Sacramento Republic FC has encapsulated the sports community of California's capital city. In between those two events were a 2014 USL league championship, multiple ownership changes, and a variety of new projects such as a youth academy and downtown Railyards stadium that put the Republic on the map as a true American soccer city. Going back as far as the 1970s, Evan Ream tells the story of soccer in the city of Sacramento, Sacramento Republic FC, and the Republic's meteoric rise to becoming one of the most successful lower division soccer franchises in the history of the United States and, ultimately, a Major League Soccer Franchise. The book is scheduled to be released in the Spring of 2023.
